I had a good feeling Mike Flanagan was going to take this and make it his own. After watching the original Carrie filming alongside the new show, his creative liberties and direction made this a much better adaptation than the 2002 and 2013 films. He expanded on so many topics and themes that weren’t explored... Continue Reading →
Resident Evil by Zach Cregger is exactly what you want when an exciting new director gets to tackle a huge franchise IP and have creative freedom. Let alone the difficult task of making a video game adaptation. When approaching this, he had to choose the right leading man as well. Austin Abrams was the absolute... Continue Reading →
The Dinosaur movie we deserved. Finally we got dinosaurs wreaking havoc across a normal 80s family neighborhood. They really don’t hold back either. This pushed the PG-13 rating to the max and probably was one more ruthless Dino kill scene away from being rated R. The End of Oak Street also showcases some fun new... Continue Reading →
This was a really highly anticipated film for this year with the mystery in the marketing, the star power in Pattinson and Zendaya, and the force that is A24 behind it. It’s maybe the first non-horror film that had me terrified of what was to come next purely out of anxiety and stress from all... Continue Reading →
In my opinion, The Odyssey was the most anticipated movie of the year. I know Marvel fans will argue with me on that about Doomsday but the Odyssey stretches across all adult generations. I had heard very good reviews on this film when it came out, now I’m kicking myself for not having run to the theatre to see this. It’s such a beautiful film in every way possible. The emotional intelligence of the story and themes in The Sheep Detectives is what elevates it, along with incredible... Continue Reading →
There is a reason Kane Parsons, while young as hell, was selected to direct the Backrooms film. It is because he knows exactly what it takes from a visual design to immerse the audience in the Backrooms and to create that environment and atmosphere exactly as the internet stories have built it. Enough can be... Continue Reading →
SPOILERS!!!! This is like when Jordan Peele came out with GET OUT, or Ari Aster dropped Hereditary, a new voice in horror has arrived and it feels DIFFERENT. Obsession needs to first be experienced in a theatre because Curry Barker has seemingly found a way to already master the art of jump scares and making... Continue Reading →
With Amazon now doing auditions for the next James Bond, it only feels right to assess some potential candidates people have been throwing out there. I narrowed it down to five I am hearing the most. I’m going to take this blog to give my thoughts to a few of the big names. This by... Continue Reading →
Inspired by Project Big Screen (Podcast), I decided to poll my friend group on their Top 30 movies of the 21st century ranked from 1-30. In order for this to be properly weighted with how high someone rated something, there were bonus points assigned for the #1 spot, top 5, and also if the film... Continue Reading →
